Meet Reverend Vincent
When I sit down to write a song or play some series of chords or notes, or maybe just add some lead parts to a song Faithland is playing, I do it all to praise the Lord.
I love Jesus Christ with all that is within me, and I play music as a form of worship offered to Him as part of my adoration of the One I love. Worship being the way a person lives their life every moment, through every breath, through every thought, each and every beat of their heart, and every action.
Worship is an offering back to God of the very best of what we have been given.
Everything we have been given is a gift (James 1:16-18) tells us
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures”.
A willingness to give Him back, what He has so graciously given us is only our regenerated response to His “Word of truth” planted in our hearts.
As we present our very lives to Him as a living sacrifice all for His glory, our music is just our human expression of joy offered back to Our Creator.
Worship is actually translated as worth-ship.
Throughout the Bible, song and instrument are used as a human form of glorification offered up to Him Who Alone is Worthy of our praise.
Our worship of Christ is based on our personal surrender to His Lordship over our lives.
As we read in: (Rev 5:8-10)
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth."
Music is not a separate ministry or a specific talent, it is an offering of praise up to Almighty God from the inner depth of ones heart.
That is why true worship music may have many differing sounds.
What may appeal to one person, may not sound pleasing to another.
It is God’s Spirit of holiness that makes it all sound beautiful.
Holiness being the result of Christ living within ones heart through complete consecration of their life to Him.
It is unto God alone I offer my praise, and He alone hears all pure worship music as a sweet sound unto His ears, a beautiful offering from His creation that loves Him.
